Of course Theben was trolling to get a rise out of the gamers. No harm in that.

This election may not turn out to be as significant as many seem to feel. However, the result will be historic as either way someone will assume office that wouldn't even have been permited to vote in most of this country 100 years ago and definitely could not vote, let alone hold office,150 years ago. Making history has a bit of excitement to it.

Bantams, is something not working for you now? I am not sure if there actually will be a next patch to Civ IV.

But if McCaine pull it off, well, he does seem OK too.

Our system is broken, but we've got two decent candidates running for office? Seems not so broken to me.

Well, with its flaws, it's still over 200 years of voting. Gotta come something from it.

And the system don't make the candidates - it just elect them. It's the generations stimulating to always try the best and some more that brings good men to run for the office, and you've done it pretty well, I admire that.

For instance, take my country (flag): the system is great, 100% reliable... But the people... Oh, the people. Give me more generations and some blood to spill on the ground for a good cause, and we'll get somewhere. Until then, I'll be envying you.

Well, Palin becomes just another footnote in history, not worth a slot in our Great (and not so great) leaders list. Who knows, maybe later?

If they bring back the Civ II type Council for Civ V, Palin would make a hilarious advisor.

Some great souls put together a Civ II Council clip:

Civilization 2. All the irritating council members - and the hot woman.
And indeed there will be time To wonder, "Do I dare?" and, "Do I dare?". t s eliot
