Stonehenge - yes a mistake, though the logic behidn it was that it gave totem poles in each city, which is a real advantage - well it would have been if I hadn't been so crushed by the barbs that I had been able to build some more.- 1 Stonehenge = 120 hammers = 4*totem pole
This means you would need at least 5 cities to get an advantage. Also remember, that those 120 hammers are early hammers and therefore worth a lot more than the 5*30 hammers that you would otherwise have spent. - Experience against barbs is caped at 10 points. Your units will be mass murdering barbs anyway so will easily reach them without a totem pole. One promotion out of the box is good to make sure that they win their first battle and is provided by barracks*, more is nearly useless.
*As dog soldiers are certainly available to you barracks are better then totem poles for this.
A general rule of thumb: Building Stonehenge is nearly always a bad idea.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to research alphabet. The spies can scout the area without risking to be killed and could make contact and thus allow tech trade.

Also there were mainly archers and not warriors. I don't know why though. Good that I chose Mansa because I don't know how otherwise I would have defended against stacks of around 4 archers.
Playing Sitting Bull, even in regular games I usually don't research hunting/archery until much later than normal. I go straight for mining->BW and Build/chop/slave enough Dog Soldiers to fight off the barbs.
MAke sure you build on hills early on.I'm consitently stupid- Japher
I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

I was playing the other night and built the internet (basically to keep the AI from it) And got the standard religious techs that I ignore but had to laugh when it gave me archery and realized that since I had elephants I never went for horse archers, crossbowman or longbowman. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit.
