      rjmatsleepers, man, where are your workers? Two cities, both working on buildings (one a wonder!) and nary a terrain improvement between them?

          IIRC, the map above did not come from an actual game, but from a replay where I was simply trying to get to the position as quckly as possible in order to find out what was happening.

          Having said that, I do tend to use less workers than conventional wisdom dictates, but I certainly wouldn't be building Stonehenge before I had a worker.

            I tend to limit workers early as well due to raging barbarians, unless I have built Great Wall. Turning on raging barbarians, then racing to Masonry and building the Great Wall is a bit of an exploit, so I usually don't do that. Workers bcome very vulnerable for a while, even if a soldier accompanies. Therefore I could start an early wonder with only one on hand.
