To be clear: I didn't say I never slave. In fact, I slave more often than not. It depends on my overall game strategy. If I'm SPI that helps because it means I can switch in and out.

(Which is another negative I didn't mention earlier... even if you just switch once, that's still two cycles of anarchy you have to deal with.)

Bottom line I don't have any kind of bleeding heart aversion to the concept. It's just a game. I sometimes role play, but usually not.

I think I've slaved in like 3 of my games. Generally I get Caste System BEFORE slavery, and in the rare case i do bronze working first, i'd rather not waste the revolt time when caste system is coming up.

I have used it to save my bacon when Montezuma came knocking circa turn 50.
