    Agreed. Unless there is a real short term need, but I haven't found one yet.
    It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

      If you really want to see what they are researching maybe, but I don't think it's worth it either.

      I don't think defensive spies are worth it either.
      Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi Wan's apprentice.

        Defensive spies are okay in the later portions of the game.

        Instead of a 10% slider early game, I'll drop a Great Spy into my capital. The science bonus is usually enough to drop research by a turn or two, and after several turns 'll start seeing my enemies research progress (this assumes I've built GWall of course).

            Since I usually play an aggressive type game (lots of captured cities), I need the courthouses to keep my economy afloat so by the midgame the espionage points are sufficient for most of the passive benefits.

              I too typically get my espionage points from courthouses. I often play ORG civs, and I prioritize CH's even if I'm not.

              How to use it efficiently? I'm not sure. How to use it effectively? Support City Revolt

              The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.
