If it's >800px wide (as it probably is), Upload it (upload button above in the menu) and then it will give you a Thumbnail link; post that here (it will have < img > tags around it).

Or just edit the file in m$ paint to reduce the width & height by 75%.

Okay, I uploaded it and got a bunch of different URLs, including this one: http://apolyton.net/upload/view/2792_Workboat&fish.jpg

          Does that do it?

Well, the link doesn't work. I don't get it. Forgive me for being slow on this. I uploaded it as you said and it all seemed to go fine but no picture appears in the message box. What else do I have to do?

              That should do it.

FYI, you did nearly everything right except the "&" character is illegal in file names that will be served via HTTP (web)

I modified the filename directly (you couldn't have done this except before uploading it in windows). In the future don't use "&"

Hit "quote" on my post above to see the exact link you should have copied (it will be the same for you always except the part after the _ will change, e.g. it will always be /2792_(filename.ext) if your userid is 2792, as yours is)

The problem with that shot is it's not using the popup stuff that shows us what's going on - "control-r" will show the resource indicators (the little yellow circles that show where fish etc. are) and Control-Y will show the food/hammer indicators. Hit both so you get both, and then redo the process

I would have thought from the screenie that the problem is the fish are outside the fat cross - two square directly diagonal from the city. Accordingly you have already put boats there (there is a boat on it already) and have access to the resource, but you cannot work it because it is outside the fat cross, and therefore nets will only show if it is workable

                  Make sense ?

It already has fishing boats. It's just not worked by a city, so it doesn't show nets

Edit: Mouseover that square to confirm that...

Agreed, the fishing boats are there but not in active use. You now have access to the fish for trade or Sushi but not anything else.
Also on that screenshot Hastings would have had to been located one tile NW of where it is to allow a city to have been built to work that newly worked fish source while retaining acess to the one you are. (The new city would have been two tiles south of Hastings in the desert.)

Thanks for the help, Snoopy. I'm still not getting it as to why the workboat won't turn into a net. It's only two tiles away from the city. You can see a big fish leaping above the back end of the workboat.

Aren't you supposed to be able to convert anything within the civ's borders?

"two tiles away from the city" does not define what area a city can work. A city works and area called a Big Fat Cross, or BFC. In ASCII art it looks like this.

                          xxx
                          xxxxx
                          xxoxx
                          xxxxx
                          xxx

(On preview, it looks worse than I feared, but hopefully it gets the idea across.)

The tiles that are two spaces away diagonally from the city are actually not in the city's workable area. You can't take advantage of them. On land, you could build a mine, but you would not see it animate because it could not be worked by a city citizen. On water, you do not see the nets because the tile is never worked by a city citizen.

For the city Hastings, try opening up your city screen. Try to put a citizen on that tile. It should not let you do that since it is outside the city's actual workable area.
                          If you aren't confused,
                          You don't understand.

If you go into your city and check the tiles you can "work", you will see that the fish resource in question is not in the "workable area". In order for the fish nets to show up on screen, it needs to be worked.

This is the same sort of thing as when you have horses, or anything else. When a city is "working" that resource, you get things like the fenced in pigs, but if that resource is outside of the workable area of a city, even if it is in your cultural borders, those pigs will not be fenced in and will be wandering the tile as if you don't have a pasture there.

You still get the overall effect to your civ when you set up work boats on fish(the health benefit), but you don't see the nets, and the extra food production won't mean anything because the city can't directly use that tile anyway.

I would like to see Civ 5 change this, so larger cities(based on size) have a larger area of tiles that they can directly have access to.

Sorry, but looking at that screenshot, it doesn't look like there is any special available on the tile with the workboat. It is already being worked by your city though.

There's a reason you have only the BFC and not more... it's to limit city size so you can't just build super-cities
