    Theben,

You always have the 4000BC start saved in your "auto" folder.

    Wodan

ps "always" as in, until you start your next new game.

Or, as in this case, someone else comes along and plays a different game.

Well then, why, you're simply not playing enough Civ. Otherwise, the only way your unfortunate scenario could occur is when you get up to go potty.

And you could avoid even that much if you bite the bullet and wear Depends.

If anybody came to my computer and started a civ game, they'd have their hand chopped off for a minimum.

Usually you won't see bronze or iron for miles with starts like that. What am I saying? I usually don't see bronze or iron for miles near most of my starting places.

Well the person in question apparently had a saved game to play, so I still have the 4000bc save. However it's been so long I don't remember where the Print Screen image goes. Or how to upload a .zip file.

Why in the world would you zip up a jpg?

ps PrtScn should go into your My Documents.

By default, image files are saved in My Documents\Civilization IV\ScreenShots.

EDIT: By the way, did someone play around with the clocks? I live in Central Europe and have selected GMT+1 on the control panel. It's not 23:45 here!

Daylight savings time has taken effect in the USA, but not in Europe; this server is hosted in the USA, so thus it is an hour ahead of usual compared to Europe.

This is a twince a year bug for those outside the US in areas that observe daylight savings time (at least in the Northern Hemisphere; could be a virtually all year long problem for those countries in the Southern hemisphere that observe daylight savings time).

                        That's what I thought, but I didn't see it. I'll look again.

A related question: Does anyone still have a 4000 BC save for that mystery "random" map that was generated repeatedly before the first patch? (I'd like to play it again for fun, but I'm not desperate enough to reinstall the game without the patch and play until it shows up.)

P.S.: Thank you, snoopy369 and joncnunn, for putting me at ease about the clock. I'll just switch my setting to GMT for the rest of the week.
