When I play, I never regenerate map. When I tweak my map script, I do it all the time.Clash of Civilization team member

Yes, I do regenerate the map. I just absolutely loathe those spots where you start standing next to a lake and are surrounded by 16 forest-covered tiles (plains, grassland, hills) without river and on the 3 remaining squares you find one to be wine, one revealing horses and the last one having rice.
Yeah, I'm not playing that."The state is nothing but an instrument of oppression of one class by another--no less so in a democratic republic than in a monarchy."

I'll regenerate map if the the start looks particularily bad or even if it just looks boring (flood plains/gold for the Xth time gets boring, too). I'll restart within the first 1000 years or so if I find out that I'm right nex to Charlemagne for the 50th time. Nothing against the Burger King, but I like some variety. The undeserving maintain power by promoting hysteria.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Well, I play for fun, so if I get a lousy start, I'll regenerate.
Same here.
