What all is involved? i.e., what are your expectations, what changes are there in 1.2 that you want tested, that sort of thing.

I'll provide more details when I upload.

But essentially, I want to see what people think of the AI changes, and also the balance as a few things have been adjusted / tweaked.

I started playing Hirohito, and it's either me sucking somehow or a bug, but my Paratroopers can't paradrop. Any idea why? I have them stationed in a city bordering China and there's no option to drop.

Was there an airport in that city?

                          BETA 2 is now out.

I've completely redone the 1936 Europe and Pacific maps. Let me know what you think of them now.

Beta 2 - new map notes Europe

First, let me say that I like that you have moved to (mostly) using the real countries (Austria, Romania, Czechoslavakia, etc); "Baltic" and "Low Countries" is OK for those small colections of countires that were quickly swallowed by the USSR and Germany but having the the real coutries that were created on the breakup of the Austro-Hungarian empire improves the game. Having said that however, I think if you are going to add Ireland separate from the UK you should also add Portugal separate from Spain and, even if you don't separate Portugal, I think you should call it Spain instead of "Iberian Republic" which never existed as far as I can tell. Spain is certainly the more significant of the two (at least for the game) given the importance of the Spanish Civilwar in the lead up to WWII. I also saw where someone had requested Albania be added, which I also agree with although I doubt it will have the same impact on the game as it had in real life as the game just does not allow small states to have a major impact. Spain it should be noted is not a small state and her staying out of the war was a significant element in British strategy particularly early in the war. It should also be noted that Spain was nearly broke by 1939 due to the massive payments the Communist (not democratic) national govt paid to the USSR for support against the Fascist rebels (led by Franco) supported by Italy and Germany. BTW I'm very interested in what you've said you're adding re the Spanish CW so I hope it is in Beta3.

A note on Finland, Norway and the USSR. Your 1936 map reflects that Norway borders the USSR west of Murmansk. This was not true in 1936 (and not until late in 1939). Finland's only northern port was Petsamo which was on a narrow bit of Finland between the USSR and Norway and was in fact a major reason for the USSR attacking Finland in 1939. So for historical accuracy I think you should add Petsamo as a Finnish city just west of Murmansk. Interestingly, the current border is as you've drawn it as the USSR apparently never gave the city back to Finland after they captured it in 1939.

Last, I noticed that you have removed "Neutral" as a government/religion from the Mod and made all of those countries Democratic. I think this is a mistake. In the mod the government is also a religion and "Neutral" accurately reflected the very real difference between the approach of Sweden, Norway, et al to Germany compared to that of England, France and the US. The "Neutral" goverment accurately reflected the way these countries behaved prior to the war and presents a more historically accurate basis for the game. Please add Neutral back - Please!

Looking forward to Beta3 and doing more testing on Beta2. BTW - Nuke problem is true in Open play mode as well as Historical.

I for one one would like a patch that adds happy resources and luxury resources I don't care about a patch that changes the minor countries. What I don't get is when they declare war on why doesn't the AI roll over them and take em out like a can of Raid. From what I have seen german AI does not seem to be as aggressive as the real Germany
Also what would happen if the player plays as Russia and kills finland during the short winter war. Mainly cuz there are three events associate with finland.
After all finland infantry have a strength rating of 5 so the regular infantry is really nerfed
