The fate of my and the Ottoman armies are quite different I can assure you. His went straight to hell, mine to heaven. I'm building replacement forces as fast as I can. Seriously, it's grimness all around. His really impressive and quite grande army is dead. I've got like two guys left in a city that once held 10, and the two guys have seen better days by far. The one guy, his whole family was hit by a metior, and THAT was a better day. I hope Genghis does something to take the pressure off so I can prepare...my...revenge...

So far we both managed to rebuild small forces. I however didn't send my meager army on a suicide foray into his territory. Ahhh the sweet taste of victory upon the field of battle.

Well Genghis made peace, I always said I couldn't count on him. So I've made peace as well, but I have no plans on getting comfy this go round. In 10 turns Gengis should be ready, and I'll make my play. Funny thing though, I wonder how Otto got all those cities? I've got 9, he has 12. Have to do something about that.

I'm plotting to take his cap :ssshhh: When he makes a go at my bronze city again I'll launch my main force from the blockage city while holding in the north.

Those are my best laid plans.

Some good news finally. At long last a prophet! I'll drop his eminence into my blockage city, build the Temp O Solomon, wait till Otto is on his knees and off his head!

Okally dokally, let me see if I can get this right. I had my uneasy truce with my old antagonists the Ottos, backed up by my def alliance with the Mongols. There's just the three of us on this landmass since the Mongs did the Germans. So, right out of the blue, Charlemange, Tokugawa, Stalin, and Isabella all declare on me , then the Mong declare on them then Pericles declares on them! Wtf?!?

I love this game. I built the Taj, could that be why the world went to war?

Charle is by far the #1 powa on the board, but his allies are crap. Pericles is #2 and I'm #3, and the Mongs are quite strong. There are some great powers on the sidelines still. My old enemy the Ottos for one...

A huge Charle fleet just sailed up and took my best defended island. Even with my new and improved fleet I can't contend with that! However the multiple challenges presented by this particular game make it a great scn. I'm going to load up 4000 BC and try to make a better go of it. If anyone cares to play this and will tell me how to make it available, I'd be glad to post it as a game.

Part of what makes it such a challenge might be my relative inexperience. The game is set on a large map at Noble with 5 additional Civs added in. That makes land a premium. It has continents with islands added in, and you'll have both.

Yeah, I have it saved. But first I'm really pissed off at myself for all my mistakes...

One was YOUR fault btw. I should have let an Otto settler through w/open borders and then cut him off and taken a free city but NoooooOO!

Actually that might be something I'd like to build.

Blockage re-established. In stead of the Grt Lighthouse I'm going for a 4th city early. That means $ and less sci so I'm building a library in Carthage earlier. I;m cycleing archers into/ out of my 4th city which gets hit by barbs every other turn or so, getting those archers their upgrades. Maybe they'll survive the Ottos that way.

Made open borders w/ all comers incl the Ottos. If they come through with a settler I'll cut em off. They will have to contend with the culture effects of my Judaism/blockage city as well. Come one come all!

I noticed, ages ago, you knocked back a request for a clam for free and then gave it anyway. If you give it when they ask they can't declare war for 10 turns, if you just give it it's meaningless.
