I use to win 9 out 10 games playing Civ 3, now that I play Civ 4 BTS I can win 7 out of 10 on Prince but I'm pushing my limit on Monachy thus basically lose. I also only played Domination games

I'd say I only win perhaps 50% of the time, or less. Of course, that includes all the really short games where I randomally lose to barbarians or the Aztecs in like 1500 BC, so I spend a lot more time winning then losing, heh.

I expect to win every time, yeah. I play on a lowish difficulty level, so I damn well better win. But I do not play simply to win. I play to win HUGE. If I fail in this, I consider it a "loss" of sorts, even though I would've eventually won the game.

Almost 1/2 the time on my current level (monarch). I start out losing on a new level. Then gradually get better until I can win 8/10 or btter, then move up a level. And indeed there will be time To wonder, "Do I dare?" and, "Do I dare?". t s eliot

I voted for 50/50. I like to change up the difficulty levels.. alot of times I want to try a new stretegy I play on cheiftan or settler to see how much difference it makes. Testing it on the harder difficulties lets too many variables into the equation and I can't get a solid answer without many times of playing. Also playing on the easier settings means faster games generally.
Also I play with my wife alot and have to let her win some games or she wouldn't keep playing =P

During a parent-teacher conference with my daughter's teacher, I mentioned that my daughter likes playing civ and the teacher thought it was GREAT. She said that my daughter has been bringing up very advanced topics in class like historical leaders, science, geographical topics, etc. She said that it was a great learning tool and she was supportive of it!
You should have seen my wife's crestfallen face when she heard the teacher saying this.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
