For what it's worth, if you click on a person's userID, you'll be taken to their personal profile. At the bottom, you can click on a link that says "add X to ignore list". It's a useful little feature!

Anyway, if you wanted to edit it yourself, check out CIV4CivicInfos.xml (in the directory C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Assets\XML\GameInfo). It looks like it's this bit of code:

Obviously, the middle one is extra science. One of the other two is presumably for extra gold. Just back up everything and play around with it a little.
