  • Why no new victory conditions?

I am curious, we haven't had a new way for ending the game in awhile.

Last one was the cultural victory from Civ3.

    How about this?

    Enlightenment/Religious Victory
    Conditions

    Must have a state religion
Must not have switched to 'Free Religion' civic in past 50 turns.
Must have spread your state religion to 1/4? 1/2? 3/4? of world's cities.
Must not have built the United Nations.

    Shadow Government/Illuminati Victory
Must build Espionage points in every civ to have a spy run the 'Plant Mole' mission. Mole must remain undiscovered for 50 turns.

    Corporate Victory
    ?

Haven't played around with corporations enough to decide on requirements for the last. Obviously, all three could use tweaks.

    Thoughts?

Sounds like pretty minor victories. And the first can easily be won in the ancient age if you are lucky and determined.
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10

I always consider the new Apostolic Palace diplomatic victory as a new so called "Religious Victory"

Well, more work would need to be done.

As for the first one, that would pretty much be determined on what map your playing on. If you're playing Pangea, then that shouldn't be a problem. But a little later on, the Theocracy civic is availible, and that could definetly put a crimp in your plans.

As for the Second Victory, maybe instead, a Great Spy would need to run a mission in each Civilization?

Yeah, that one would be nice.

The AI needs to get better at pursuing the ones we have now.

That's pretty much what it is if you think about. It's just an unofficial one. It would be nice if they were to expand on it and make it official.
