I have two minor things to suggest, which would IMO improve the game:

    1. When a city is about to grow beyond either its health or happiness cap, i´d like to see a pop-up after hitting "end turn" asking me, if thats allright with me and offering me to open the city-screen and adjust before the turn actually ends.

    2. I´d like to have the save game directory just below the original Civ4-folder. I hate it, when games install anything inside the (uhem what is it in english ?) "My Files" (? - you know what i mean, right ?) directory of windows.

I agree, it's quite annoying... if at least the different games would save it in the same place it wouldn't be that annoying, but to have one game save under \My documents\GameName\ and another game save under \My documents\My Games\GameName\ and then a third game save somewhere else (like C:\GameName\ even though the game is installed on another drive)... very annoying
This space is empty... or is it?

I'd like there to be a key which would allow me to wake all of a certain unit type, e.g. sleeping bombers.

You could try Alt clicking a unit, that may select all of the same type.

My Documents\My Games\ is the correct location for saves. Don't blame other games for misbehaving and saving things elsewhere... My Documents is correct because it is a location that is unique for each user of the computer, so for multiuser computers each person has their own save location. My Games inside that is just logical for games

I think the reason that you don't have popups is that popups are annoying, and adding more of them (and if you added popups for health/happy caps you'd add a lot more) you'd just be constantly annoying the player... the point of Civ4 was to make hitting a health/happy cap not that big of a deal (when you have an unhappy person, you often don't do anything about it at first, as it doesn't really hurt you that much, it's no worse than not having that person).

I find unhappy people VERY annoying - its reason enough for me to reload the latest auto-save where its not there yet. Yeah - call me nuts, but this way it´s a lot more annoying than having the said pop-up... If you really want to avoid them and dont have that kind of pop-up its a lot of micromanagement - how about just making it an option ? Is that a good compromise ?

Multiuser PCs... hmmm... P(!)C = Personal Computer - thats how i see it - if someone messes with mine, he/she is in deep trouble (dont take this too serious - I do understand Your point - it´s absolutely valid)

What I would like is someway to activate an entire sleeping army. Sometimes you mobilize an army just before declaring war and you put some units to sleep while the other units are moving into place. Once you're in position you want to activate them all and begin your attack. Sometimes when I'm waking the units, I forget one or two. This would be especially helpful for navies as it's harder to find in the ocean (I find land units using landmarks or they are usually in a city).

Only works for the stack in question. I'd like it to be empire wide.

I find it verry easy to find my saves on the desktop.

but that window telling you that your city is about to become ill or angry would be nice.

                        Learned this somewhere on Poly:

To save games in another location, go to Properties of your shortcut and in the Target field add /ALTROOT="(path)".

                        So I've got:

                        /ALTROOT="J:\Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword"

Since all I do on my PC is play civ, I just put a shortcut of the Saves directory on my desktop (along with a shortcut of the BtS directory).

I have a standard file name used for my present game when I quit and save at the end of the session. A shortcut to that file is on my desktop. It becomes a de facto "resume game" button.

You know the option for "Show friendly actions" and "Show enemy actions"?

I'd like to have "Show friendly within 3 tiles of your borders" and "Show enemy within 3 tiles of your borders".

It used to be annoying, with religious LOS (line of sight) into other cities, to have to sit and watch all the AI workers, caravels, etc etc dink around all over. Now it's even worse with the espionage LOS.

I mean, it's almost critical to have the "show friendly" turned on, because you can then see when the AI is moving stacks around.
