There are two changes than make the hermitage obsolete for OCC in BTS.
1: AI Civs are more aggressive about spreading religion. If you keep open borders you will probably get three without trying.
2. You can now build cathederals with just a temple, at least in OCC. So especially if you have inscence you can get culture and happy and not waste a National Woder slot on Hermitage.
I have also found that the easier access to religions make globe theater less attractive as it is easy to throw up three or four temples most games.
