  • Inflation: is this normal?

I'm new to this game, and playing BTS on the easiest level, but I'm being crucified by inflation.

In my present game it's 2012, inflation is 134% and I'm losing money at 112 gold per turn, even with all my sliders down at zero percent.

I'm not using any specialists at the moment, as I'm trying to learn the game and haven't got to that feature yet, but I'm a bit surprised to find inflation this harsh at such a low difficulty level.

I think we have an official name for it now.

                        Many thanks.

I assume this patch only works on new games, as the inflation level in my saved game remained the same.

Are you sure you installed it correctly? It should work on your current game.

Hmmm, well I'm always prepared to accept that I may have made a mistake, but the instructions read:

"To install, just put the DLL file from the zip file into the Assets folder of your BtS installation (by default something like c:\program files\firaxis games\civilization iv\beyond the sword\assets). Putting the file into CustomAssets will not work!£

So I have put the .dll file into the assets folder (not CustomAssets, which I don't have anyway). I did not copy any of the other files from the zip file, so if I should have done, please let me know.

What I have done so far, definitely had no effect on my save game file. I played a couple of extra turns, just to make sure the inflation level was unaffected.
