  • Missiles and Submarines

Has anyone an idea, how I can store missiles on submarines or Missile Cruiser? I cannot find any way or any type of missile, that would allow this.

    Thanks

You first need to move the ship into a port (city). Then you can load a missile.

So you don't use the rebase mission to move missiles onto subs? Is there a load button when a sub and missiles are in port?

Yes, a load button. They're loaded like land units, not airplanes.

That was a fast answer, thanks a lot.

          Is this documented somewhere?

Maybe in the manual, I don't know.

Not documented, but now you know the answer. Solver is better than any manual.

How are you supposed to land a missile once it's been fired? They're not exactly designed for that, now are they?

It's a fair question, IIRC that's how some of the missiles worked in Civ3.

Indeedy, supposedly a ship crew wouldn't be very happy if a tactical nuke was heading for them

Nice to see they're being handled more realistically this time. It's also better for game balance IMO. They could be overpowering if they were able to be transported of their own accord. At least now there's a bit of effort involved, and having to load them up manually will slow down their useage somewhat.

Guided missiles can be rebased (meaning, they can fly from one friendly city to another) in BTS. That is why this question had to be asked; for some reason missiles are rebased to cities but loaded on subs.

Tell that to the people who designed bts, I guess.

Cites don't mind getting guided missiles their way for rebasing. Inconsistent mechanics,,Willem, now isn't it ?

You could imagine them being transferred between Cities via Transportplanes or less fitting via trucks (and ships if not on the same landmass). Both would not work with submarines in high sea.
