I have only played one game completely of BTS, and i had a couple of destroyers outside my capital with that order on. The capital had i think 3 or 4 sea food resources, and so i had the destroyers placed out to cover all 4 squares using the patrol option. An enemy ship came in, tried to pillage an empty square (i.e. one that had a food resource but no destroyer, the destroyer was adjacent) and the destroyer next to it laid into it and killed it. However, i think that in the event the enemy brought 2 or 3 ships, that one destroyer would obviously not be sufficient and I think would even go as far as getting itself killed trying to defend the about to be pillaged square.

I still have to buy Civ IV.....but the first thing that I'll do is to allow a 100% damage to my air vs navy and viceversa....BTW is there any built-in editor to flag this option ala Civ III ?

      thanks

P.S. do Firaxians know that warplanes are able to sink ships since before Pearl Harbor years ????? I suggest them to open a war / story book and fix Civ IV . Thanks in advance
