    BTS will keep crashing

    Hi,

BTS will keep crashing, putting my PC to a halt situation where the only option left is to restart the PC.

Has this happened to anybody else?

    Thanks.

This isn't really a bug but it should still be fixed. Since Civ 4 first came out, Firaxis went to great pains to make sure we didn't know the identity of civs we haven't yet encountered. But with the new events messages, I'm getting notices about things that happen with civs I haven't even made contact with. The event messages should only appear for civs we've actually met already.

Has anyone figured out what causes the graphic error that makes "night settle upon the land"?

The land becomes dark except around rivers, trees are visible, but on dark land.

BTW: I have the latest drivers for my graphics card.

Does it start out normally then go dark, or does it start out that way? And what's your graphics card? That sounds the Hardware T&L issue that people with older cards were facing when the game first came out.

Another problem I've been running into. If I select some of the new maps, like Big-Small, Hemispheres etc., quite often the menus will skip a couple of screens. For instance, I've been playing Big-Small and when I start a new game, I usually end up skipping over the options for Continent/Island size and go straight to the Islands Seperate/Mixed screen.

It usually changes during the game, but not all that often. I have to restart Civ 4 to get it back to normal.

I also experimented with making larger maps and when I boot those, they usually are all dark.

as for graphics card, it's the one that came with the Intel MB D945GNT an "Intel GMA 950 onboard graphics subsystem". I know I should pick up a new card, but this board uses a different slot that my other graphics card and I'm putting off spring another $300 for one.

I didn't see this mentioned already, but this was in warlords too, I didn't play vanilla:

I will be contacted by a rival leader advising me to stop trading with a particular leader. The problem is that I will not have any trade agreements with the mentioned leader.

Has anyone else running been running into that?

there is a message for the statues, just like all other national wonders. they are not world wonders and get no movie.

                      Of course not.

Well that's very likely your problem. The graphics card is probaly having a hard time handling the Hardware T&L requirements.

I didn't have it at all with a boxed version of warlords, but with a steam version of civ+bts, everything runs great except for that weird stutter before a diplomacy head pops up. It's not unplayable or anything, but it's certainly obnoxious, especially when warlords ran great!
I have also purchased bts on steam. I am experiencing exactly the same bug now (among others).

I'm also with the delay problem, but it's takes 15 seconds for the leaders popup to appear (in fact any popup takes 15 seconds: civilopedia, foreign advisor, etc).
Funny thing is that I'm running the game in a quad core processor, with 4GB of RAM...
Im playing Huge map with 18 Civs, Epic speed and i'm actually in January 1956 (i think the problem becomes bigger when you advance in time)

                              Three more that I noticed:

                              1) I was able to use my Great General to build a Military Academy without researching Military Science first.

                              2) Non-State religion was being spread in my territory while the Theocracy civic was active.

                              3) Units set to auto-explore no longer stop exploring after being damaged.

I have a similar bug to the Delay some of you are seeing, although I have a retail box of the game, and it doesn't occur with all Leader heads.

As an example 1 game I was dealing with Lincoln, and bringing up the Diplomacy screen didn't have a problem, but after I selected what I wanted to offer, and then selecting "Would you accept this offer". My game locked up for probably 30 seconds, then Abe's head got the angry look on it, and he said no.

Also In warlords my Wonder Movies were smooth and played fine, now with BTS they all have stutters in them.

1 other small bug, every ship i put to Explore would either head straight for 1 location along a coast, or would explore for a few turns and then eventually head for that 1 space again. I had to move them myself,a nd place them in the middle of blackness before hitting explore again to get them to do anything but head for that 1 square and then sit there.
