I had been reading that this expansion was meant to give builders a better chance at competing vs. outright warmongering, especially at higher levels. If this was, indeed, one of the goals of this expansion, how well do you think they have achieved this?

In my first game, Suleiman of the Ottomans created a vassal, Mehmed of the Ottomans. So there were two Ottoman civs, the other being other's vassal. The vassal got a random colour.
Last time I asked for BTS in a store (that was yesterday), the salesperson I spoke to told me they indeed already had the game in store but that they were not allowed to sell it before the 25:th of july witch according to them was the official release date in Finland. Seemed pretty silly to me somehow..
but still I could not find it anywere else either.

Are colonies still possible if vassals are deactivated?
I really hate it when I'm about to kill somebody he becomes the vassal of somebody else and I'm teleported hundreds of miles away and can't even go conquering as war weariness would not allow the extra war time needed to get back to the sites I was. So I normally play with that option turned of. If it's not possible to create colonies is there still that third type of maintainance cost?

What I like about this game is that it is not one you can work out in a day. This includes loking at all threads form Aployton formbest strats. Seen three difeerent war decs fron AI depending on current situ. Awesome. Lots of testing now to get optimum.

Some more colony questions:
1.) Is a master still prohibited from using his workers to improve ground in the colony? So if my colony has oil (which I want to demand), can I have my workers create a well (as long as I have the appropriate techs), or do I need to give/trade all of the techs to my colony, then let the colony do the work in creating the well?
2.) Will colonial leaders make demands on the master? E.g., if I end up spinning off Monty as a colony, will he start demanding that I switch to Police State?

That's almost asking for trouble!

Can I somehow control what cities do I want to give independence?
In my last game I had conquered Timbuktu which had 5 marine food resources, and as a Dutchman I intended to keep it and create a colony out of my other cities taken from Bismark. But the Alt+F1 menu only let me create a colony out of *all* my overseas cities.Graffiti in a public toilet
