I've got two quick question for anyone who's dealt with file planet in the past:

Do you have to be a member to download demos, or just to reserve the demo?

Any idea what time in the day they typically make things available?

        Hey Jon,

Is this a File Planet Exclusive or can any other sites host the demo as well?

Once it's out it can be put anywhere for download.

No - we just do not watch Bad SF series - that like infinity, go on and on and on. With no real point or objective to them.

May as well watch paint dry and then paint again and again and again.

I'm already in the process of getting the demo up on Apolyton, so if you want to avoid FilePlanet and can wait a few hours you can get it from us. It will take at least another 4-5 hours though, it's a BIG file and FilePlanet isn't very generous with their bandwidth (understandably, they're probably getting hammered).

Actually, the first two season were very good. This last season should have been called Soap Opera in Space. The writers got too 'edgy' for their own good. If I want to be preached at I go to church. I don't care for Soap Opera's so I just gave up midway through this season. Starbuck's call sign should be changed to Trainwreck.

That tends to be the problem with a lot of US series.

The writers have a plot that ends after say 30 episodes. Maybe two series. Assuming the pilot is OK.

But horror of horrors, viewers liked the pilot and the first 10 episodes.

                  MONEY, MONEY, MONEY.

Writers are told to extend it by another 20, 30, 40 etc episodes.

We have no proper plot to do that and make it believable they argue.

                  DO IT. or your fired.

So they do it or some hack writers take over.

A lot of good series (that would initially have had a plausible ending) have been ruined because they were too popular.

So they were extended until the original viewers died of boredom.

But hey, who cares money is what it is all about, not entertainment.

But Galactica is made finite. Next season is planned to be last season. Just for those same reasons (to not water it down, by extending it too much).

                        Good-good Thanks

Maybe it will be out as a torrent soon also (no, torrent doesn't equals piracy if anyone wonders), that will make it faster to download

                            Onto Final Frontiers itself...

While I like the IDEA of being able to build the same structures on different planets in the same system...the interface for this is very kludgey, IMHO.

For example, could somebody tell me how I can give an order for Recycling Centers in all of my accessible planets within a system?

As far as I can tell I can only queue up orders for one planet in the system at a time.

I am loving the demo. Final Frontier looks to be an awesome scenario. I noticed that the game displays how much research points, influence points, and spy points you are generating each turn next to the slider. Is that a scenario feature or a Beyond the Sword feature of the regular civ4 game? That is a really nice feature!
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"
