The Colossus effectively replicates the Financial trait (with some limitations obviously) and the Hanging Gardens the Expansive one, so it's not quite unprecedented. Of course, those effects are cumulative and this one isn't, but still.

    It comes with Radio, BTW.

Well no, that's not a fair comparison at all. But if it comes with radio it's probably fine as there aren't a lot of civic changes to make at that point. In fact it might be pretty useless, though I expect micromanagers will get use out of it by rush buying and then dropping back into their preferred civic, for free.

Seems as though that will be the only practical application of it, as it comes so late. That and switching to vassalage/theocracy during wartime.

Shame, really. It would be a terrific wonder if it came earlier. As it is, seems that the Apostolic Palace and that Buddhist shrine I can't spell (maybe) are the only ones with a great deal of potential.

If a civ is a full voting memeber of the Apostolic Palace - if a civ has adopted the appropriate state relgion and has not vetoed a passed resolution - then it will recieve production bonuses from all buildings related to its state religion.
Ah, so that's what that meant! So, do you reckon 2 hammers for a Cathedral and one each for a monastery and temple?

I'm still shocked that some people see Cristo as possibly weak. I love it, and think it's really solid even for Spi leaders.

The Partisans were interesting - they looked Medieval. Wouldn't it be great if their look and/or stats updated to the level of the civ that spawned them?

Love how the spaceship launch could be tracked all the way zoomed out too!

That WAS the level of the Russian civ in those vids!

I don't recall seeing any gunpowder units defending at all. I wonder, was it played at Warlord or Settler level?

Why would you build it as a Spi leader?

edit: Oh, no wait, so no 5 turn delay between civics switches? Hehe, ya know I've built the darn thing several times but never noticed that before. Cool, heh.

It'd be nice if during a Golden Age you're allowed one Civic change for free, but I guess that's not gonna happen...

I think for Spi leaders they also get +100% production in that city, so that's a pretty decent investment right before the space race.
