  • Cities in BTS?

Look at this screenshot here: http://www.insidemacgames.com/images/civ4_001_large.jpg

Orginally in Civ4 you A, could not get buildings like the Kremlin and the Effile Tower in the ancient age. Secondly, notice that the city appears to take 9 squares. In Civ4 vanilla, you'd see that cities can expand slightly beyond its own square, but in this one it completly takes the squares. Do you think this means that cities can take more space in BTS? And can anyone explain the wonders thing?

That screenshot was released before the release of Civ4.

Yes, it's a WorldBuilder screen since before the vanilla release.

What which one? It was published on IGN a month before Civ4 came out, so it isn't a BtS screenshot.

OK... I was referring to "since before" which is a contradiction. Thanks for clarifying it to be "before".

That's European grammar for you Though I've heard "since before X" a lot of times...

'Since before X' is a pretty common phrase..
Since = 'between a particular past time and the present'

since before x = between some time before X and the present...

so saying that the screenshot has been the same since before vanilla was released, is quite correct.. (it is the same screenshot that was released some time before vanilla civ4)

Maybe where you live. Here, it's awkward and confusing.

Better construction would be, "Yes, it's a WorldBuilder screen taken at some point before the vanilla release."

I think it is acceptable and I'm American. Then again, almost anything is acceptable in Southern English.

In answer to the thread's original question: "cities in BTS?"

Yes, there will be cities in BTS. That is all, I suppose.
