Won't SMAC eventually enter the public domain, then anyone can make a game off of it? The problem is how long does that take? Interest might be lost by then or something better will come along.

We only have a private (no public) forum at CFC at the moment, because with a limited group it's easier to focus on and discuss certain issues. Here's the public thread which got the project rolling though.
