  • BTS - What, Still no Palace/Thrown Room?

I know, it doesn't affect game play and it's not really important to most people here or, apparently the developers. Still, a guy can dream can't he?

Kids! Bringing about Armageddon can be dangerous. Do not attempt it in your home.

I like the idea of a Thrown Room. That's where we can send people who obsess about the Palace.
Participating in my threads is mandatory. Those who do not do so will be forced, in their next game, to play a power directly between Catherine and Montezuma.

Yeah, I typed in the homonym without really thinking. That's what I get for talking on the phone while I post.

      Stupid brain!

I didn't like the throne room in Civ 2, I always turned it off. But I'd love to see the advisers from Civ 2 return to Civ IV
This space is empty... or is it?

I'm surprised it didn't make it in. It was almost finished with the initial Civ IV release. There are some screenshots of it out there.

Yeah, I guess it would have looked something like this. Makes you wonder how much of it was completed before being nixed. I mean, it even made it into the manual.

If it had been in the similar vein as the wonder movies, then no thanks.
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

I quite agree, but not for the game. I want one for MYSELF!

Unfortunately, I haven't the money or real gumption to even get the architects/designers started on the project.

OTOH, as shabby as it is, I suppose my computer room IS my throne room ... or is that the room where the toilet resides?

I find the wonder movies to be real yawners.

That is almost exactly like the lobby of my condo.

I for one am glad there's no throne room in the game. I used to get so annoyed when I was interrupted from what I was doing just do some useless eye-candy thing that added nothing to the game. It's good riddance as far as I'm concerned, and I hope it never gets revived.

I'm pretty sure there was an option to turn it off if you didn't want to see it...

No, there never has been. It's always been something that just came up whether you wanted it to or not.
