Civ 4 - plain and simple.

    Plus Warlords...........

    And the DG's...........

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

It requires the vanilla Civ4. Warlords is not needed.

I joined in the days of civ3, but not for it, but for SMAC instead which i was still playing then. Soon after i joined i stopped playing civ-games for a while though. I never played civ3 before mid 2003 and not much after i had finally gotten it. And smac was too simple in single player.

I became somewhat active on the forums only with civ4. I also restarted on smac pbems then, the community for which is in rapid decline sadly it seems.

I came here for Civ2 and SMAC, registered for CTPII(but decided to let it pass by when I saw the reactions, which I didn't regret when I later got the chance to try the game), got attached here for Civ3, more attached with Civ4, and is steadily getting more sucked into the site for every day that goes by. I even have begun to visit the OT and actually posting there!

Civ3 brought me here, and there still I am, despite not really playing any Civ anymore, because my interest has shifted to other game types. Today it's mostly lurking community, other games and off topic. Civ4 once in a while too.

Started coming here for Civ2 scenarios, back when this place was the Greek site, maybe from '98. Didn't get into the forums though until just before Civ3 was released. Then came the Civ2 DG and it was away. I've been one of those (now Deity) regulars hogging the karaoke machine ever since.

And yes, I've been playing Civ4 since about 4 months ago, when I finished my PhD and actually started to have time. People with jobs don't know how lucky they have it - student life is really hard.

It's not as expensive as you mgiht think. Can get civ4 used for $24 now and probably less by the time the expansion comes out.

For some reason new Civ4 is going for $40 on most sites. The game came out in 2005 and its still full price.

I originally came here for SMAC back in 1999 (with an old inactive login).

I was directed here from the alpa.owo boards (official SMAC boards). I've been here ever since.

I came here for the original CtP information (and was playing CivII at the time). I'm mostly OT and PBEM gaming on Civ4 these days.

I hear that. I used to browse the forum throughout '99 and '00 but didn't actually join until a few months before Civ3 came out. I guess I wanted to add my input to one of those gripping speculation threads or something. I only hung around now and then after Civ3 actually came out because in my mind it just wasn't as fun as Civ2.

Then the Civ4 announcement came and I got my hopes up again and returned to Apolyton for good. This time I was not disappointed with gameplay either.
