It's sad how we are forced to link to CFC for such info.

Yeah, I don't like going there unless it's absolutely necessary... that place is scary

Well, it is the definitive place to go to for Civ4 mods and modding resources right now. I'm not going to say otherwise just because I love this site.

Oh I'm not saying it isn't true - hell it's true not just for mods but almost anything to do with Civ4. I'm just saying it's sad.

Sad, true. But I'm not sure it's better for everything. Well, it has more quantity, for sure. I'm a frequent CFC reader, have been for a while, although an infrequent poster - and it's still my opinion that no one writes strategy guides better than Velociryx. He's a huge asset. Though CFC has some very interesting things in the strategy forum, I particularly enjoy reading aelf's high-level challenge game threads. Very good learning material.

Civilization franchise runs in 5 years interval:
                Civ I - 1991
                Civ II - 1996
                Civ III - 2001
                Civ IV - 2006

Civ IV is barely a year into release, and people are already dreaming about Civ V? My money is on Christmas 2010.

Civ 4 was released in 2005, Warlords was the 2006 game . Civ4 is in fact almost a year and a half old now.

Well, as far as we hadn't already, the recent Guardian interview (http://apolyton.net/misc/) gave us conclusive evidence Civ5 won't be released anytime soon:

Although Civ V is not currently in our production schedule, our motto has been that if the fans want more we'll give them more.
If it's not in the production schedule yet, it'll be at least two years before it's released.

So after all that 2010 probably looks about right.

Last week of October 2005, pretty much the same as 2006. That's why I expect Civ 5 to be out around Xmas 2010.
