Does anyone have the music in Civilization? I really like it, and I don't know what any of it's called. Is there a directory or somethiing where I can pull it out?

If anyone could help me, I would be immensely grateful.

Much of it was written Jeff Briges, so you probably won't hear much of it off civ.

But there are also numerous classical pieces, and contemprary orchstral music. They can be found in the C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\Sounds, in .mp3 format. They also have somewhat descriptive names.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

That's Jeff Briggs, and much of the Civ4 music is actually from different folks, such as Christopher Tin .

It would also be really nice to know what they're saying, if anything. The Warlords music, especially. Does anyone know how/where I can get such information?

The original Civ4 menu music is the Lord's Prayer in Swahili. The Warlords menu music is a love song in Arabic.

Ah! I knew it was in Arabic! Seems strange to have a love song for a game called Warlords, though... "All's fair in love and war?"... Maybe its not so strange.

It *sounds* warlike, if you don't know the words... And it has bits about tearing down mountains and such. Remember Helen of Troy...

Anything told in arabic sounds warlike if you don't know the language.

I remember a couple of years ago someone thought it was a war cry

when listen a group of men say: "God is Forgiveness".

                  Best regards,

It's all about imagination, when there's a powerful melody, in a game called "Warlords", and you can't understand the language, you naturally expect and imagine it to be a war song of some sort.

or it's just a harsh language, like german. .

I don't think I've ever heard of arabic called the language of love.

Though if spoken by a hot chick, it can be arousing. There's this hot arabic girl at my job. She's americanized and has a california accent though. But she speaks perfect arabic (I assume, I can't actually verify her arabic is perfect- but it sounded good). The women can be beautiful if the society would just let them be.

back on topic. I know my special edition version of civ4, had a cd with all the music on it. Even though I like the music, I have yet to listen to it. . I just can't imagine listening to it driving down the road. Blasting it loud for all the other people to hear it.

The soundtrack CD is good . Mind you, it has the songs in wav format, so it's not like you can listen to it in your car. I think. I enjoy it, the Mongol diplo music is my favorite, along with the Spanish one.

I listen to the soundtrack CD once in a while. I'd like to bring it with me in my car, as I spend a lot of my time driving (because of work). Sadly, I would be the person blasting "Baba Yet" down the highway...
