Well, not to forget my roots, I did post almost the same information here over a week ago.

      Hah

Shows how well I keep up on things.

But you did mention more about the changes to vassals so I guess some of it is quasi news

I have actually not built the great wall yet in any game but I have heard/read that if you build it it will not visually alter along with your cultural border when you expand although the effects of it will follow the cultural border.... do we know of this issue has been/will be fixed in the upcoming patch?

The walls visually stays where it was built by design, that's not a bug.

If the Great Wall moved when China increased it's influence north of it, it would be a Wonder for a different reason.

it would be weird to move the great wall. But sometimes I get it built so early, it just looks ugly surrounding only 2 cities. . Especially if those cities are in weird positions or against inland lakes.

On more than one occasion I have seen an AI civ with the wall around one city.

I wonder, would it be an idea to have a minimum number of cities requirement before it could be built?

Not a chance. I go for the Wall right from the start in order to avoid the Barbs. I'd be really annoyed if I couldn't build it right away.

Personally, I think you should have to have X walls up to build the Great Wall, X being the same number for your map size as other things.

That's not an answer to what guermantes actually said.
He said that it visually stayed on the original cultural borders but worked for the new cultural borders, which is an issue.

I'm not sure if that's true or not btw. Just try to do justice on guermantes' post.

Guermantes, to answer your question: The Great Wall's effects will continue even after your cultural borders grow past where the Wall is built visually. So, if you build another city outside your borders, it cannot be attacked by barbs.

It isn't a bug, and won't be patched. It was a design in the game. That's why so many people like the Great Wall, especially when playing Raging Barbs on higher levels.

I hope you didn't feel I was making fun of you with my last post. Any jokes I make are never made with ill intentions.

You can manually expand the Great Wall by using the world builder (Ctrl-W), City Edit Mode, Click on the city that has the Great Wall, Buildings Tab, Last Icon is the Great Wall, Click twice, once to deselect and then once to reselect. I like to move it when my border changes too much, mostly for aesthetic reasons, but sometimes it is graphically in my way and I don't notice resources etc. However, even if you don't move the wall, the effects stay and barbarians stay out of your space. I did have a bug once and a barbarian went around the corner of my wall. (I posted the screen shot). However, I love the wall and it's not only defensive capibilities, but offensive if you save a barbarian city and funnel the barbarians towards your hated neighbors.
