Hey, Civ 1 has perfect graphics. Perfect. Seriously. I haven't seen any other game with such graphics - everything was very understandable, easy to overview, and tidy. Unlike, say, Civ2, where I always had trouble with these things.

Heh, i remember one discussion with my friend 10 years ago, when he complained about Civ2 grapihcs that it was too much like Colonization.
I thought that a Settler looked like teeth bared in a smile. I had little knowledge of English when I started playing Civ1 - well, not that little maybe, but I didn't know a lot of words that were in Civ - such as settler or granary. It proved to also be educational, you know, building a granary and seeing its picture + effect, I figured out what the word meant... funnily, Civ1 added many words to my vocabulary.

You couldnt move on the rails.... but they did add a shield bonus !
Civ 1 is still the only game where I got stealth nuked by the AI. (Pretty sure it was civ 1)
I had a large landmass as was pretty sure of myself... I declared war and all of a sudden the enemy was launching nukes from subs parked right on my coast that I didnt see before it was too late.
I remember loosing a couple nukes in Civ1, because I accidentally pressed wrong numpad button.

AI cheated with nukes in Civ1. It could launch nukes at any target on map, while human player had range limitations.
