  • Change a Civ's Language

I was wondering, is there some easy way to use a civ and use the language of another civ? For instance, I wouldnt mind using the Germans and them speaking Spanish. For no other reason than just for simple preference... I was just wondering if there was an easy way to do it. Thanks all.

I don't understand what you want. Unless all you want is Germans to speak in Spainish.

      that's what he wants alright.

I love to play the germans, but I have no idea what they are saying. Anyone have any translations?

More or less, I just want my favorite units or traits to come along with the language I love the most. I just want to combine them, no reason other than that.

That's stored in the Civilization XML files: [Warlords/]Assets/XML/Civilizations/CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml

Open up that file in a text or XML editor, look for <CivilizationSelectionSound> and <CivilizationActionSound> and change those to whatever you want (e.g. change AS3D_GERMANY_ORDER to AS3D_SPAIN_ORDER)

All units say the exact same things as the English/American units do -- or at least whatever's the closest thing to it in the language in question.

I think it gets annoying when they speak English.

The american English just sounds boring to me.

Instead of worrying, that you dont understand, take the time to translate it yourself and then realize that you just learned something new!

I absolutely LOVE hearing the "yes sir" "whatever you say" etc. in every possible language. (except the spanish seem to speaking latin)
