  • is this an old bug or new with warlords

look at how stupidly the AI has made use of this port city. It is technically a port, but it is completely walled in by ice with no usable water squares in its radius.

Nonetheless the stupid AI has gone and built a lighthouse (see it sticking up out of the snow ) and a galley.

He even looks to have a settler queued up and ready to load into that galley.

I've never noticed this in the vanilla civ game, but then again, it is possible that this bug has always been there but that I've never run across it before.

I must say that it was pretty funny when I first saw it. That light house sticking up out of the ice flow is classic.

But it is also sad to realize that my opponents are this dumb.

Ah, reminds me, AI seems to often build workers in one-square island cities...

yes. the inland lake that is iced over can be used as a source of water that enables farming on the edges.... you are still unable to work the ice itself though.

It is the Capitol City (STAR) - so the AI knew it was losing its homeland and built an outpost where it could find land to found a City.

When the last homeland City was defeated - this outpost became the Capitol. Sounds like good survival tactics to me.

building a lighthouse in a city that has no water tiles, and building two galleys in a city that has no water tile for the boat to sail into are good survival tactics?

Before I start a game I always melt the non polar caps ice while I am removing the tundra that is under forests. Are those Redcoats up there in the tundra with no felt boots! That's a good way to lose your toes.

If he had the tech, he could launch a submarine. They will go under all that ice. Doesn't look like the opponent is going to let him wait for that option.

it would be pretty cool if submarines could go under the ice...

This doesn't speak highly for the skills of the Firaxis team. I guess ice is defined as a kind of water...
