  • Attacking Friendly Cities

I'm fighting one of those wars that take place in a nation (Egypt) each of you have open borders with. Some Chinese troops troops were in an Egyption city. I attacked with a CR3 Artillery to cause collateral damage. I then noticed that it was getting the 75% CR bonus even though I wasn't attacking the city. Has anyone else expirenced this?

Think of it like the Americans bombing German-occupied france.

I guess in this case the city isn't "occupied," but it works the same way.

    What is a CR bonus?

Yea, city raider. The reson I think it's strange is that I'm not attacking the city just troops passing through the city, but I still the bonus of attacking troops defending the city.

I wonder how the Egyptians feel about this.

            They probably aren't too happy.

City raider is just for attacking into cities, as if cities were a type of terrain. Your troops are trained for urban combat, and it's called city raider.

The Egyptions are probably very unhappy due to the fact that it was artillery.

Have seen the same thing You get bonuses even if the city does not belong to either of the fighting parts. Should maybe cause some unhappiness though (in the city where the fighting takes place) as the city is suddenly turned into a warzone

It's like Israel attacking Hisbullach in Lebanon.

I have seen this a while back - wasn't sure if they changed it yet. Probably (on balance rather than realism grounds) it should be changed so that you only get the bonus when attacking the actual city.
