    OK

    Im off to bed

    quick summation:

I am Stalin and wanted to push so I chose to Push Ragnar.

I took one of his cities and ended up being swarmed and lost it. He also took two more and leveled them both.

I am now re-occupying his city

and loading up top take more cities

I used Maceman,Longbowman and Trebuchets first time
    This time, Cossacks,Rifleman and Trebuchets

    BIG Difference

I have like 94 turns or so left

I will follow up tommorrrow night hopefully

    Love it so far

+2 GE points in the city where it's built.

As far as I can tell the GG point bonus is only applicable to battles fought within the boundary of the GW.

AI going hard for the GW seems a bit backward programming, given they have advantages against Barbarians in the first place.

Ooh, ooh, look at me, I'm complaining about the game and I don't even have it yet! Do I win TEH PRIZE??

From my reading of the manual. the Great Wall does not expand with your cultural borders after is built, but its effects do. I haven't played that far into the game, but so far, no barbs have come knocking on my door. They killed off both my exploring units, but have not crossed my borders.
                If you aren't confused,
                You don't understand.

Finally beat the computer to the Great Wall. Love it, can see it from space :P Effects be damned, I like it for the visual effect. I'll have to keep an eye on them not going inside my borders past the wall.

Looks like there is a coastal hole for the barbarian scenario? Can you, as barbs, build boats in that scenario, or is the wall banned?

Someone did a review about the barbarian scenario over at EVO forums. The civs can build the Great wall in the barbarian scenario and you would have to build ships in order to get to the other side.

Mobile camp should be moved also to the other side of the wall after that so the new units do not have to use ships all the time.

Gee. What if, in the Barbarians Scenario, a landlocked Civ builds the Great Wall? No water access to the interior. Are the Barbs just stuck?

Don't know... I don't have the game yet.

Here is the thread about the barbarian scenario:

                            Ok, update

I took out two of Ragnar's cities, then Ragnar opened a case of Whoop @r$e and then it was on. All troops, Rifleman and Cossacks and Trebuchets headed to border to war.(Western Front)

Then out of blue to my southeast, Louis attacked, occupying Rostov.

                            Then Julius Caesar joined in.

I was able to make peace with Louis and Ragnar, for now and need to wipe out Caesar
