  • Who do you is better: Mansa or Shaka?

: I just wanted to ask players who do you think is better out of the only two African nations on civ4; Mansa or Shaka?
    :
    :
:And although I understand that Shaka would be more difficult to rate, since very few people have actually played Civ4 Warlords, I would like you to rate Shaka due to the info that is already provided eg.= Has the unique Impi unit etc.
    :
    :
:I personally think that when Shaka arrives into the Civ4 realm, people would wonder why Firaxis even thought about putting Mansa Musa in civ4 in the first place.
    :
    :
:But thats just my opinion, plz feel free to say who YOU think is better.
    :
    :
:I shall await for your replies, thanks for reading.

    Egypt isn't an African civ?

Erm .... how can we give opinions on a civ from a game that hasn't even been released yet?

What? Mansa Musa is one of the best leaders in the box.

He seems very effective as an AI in the games I've played, although very annoying. I suspect Shaka will be like Tokugawa. If he's your neighbor, you WILL have to kill him.

As far as playing as the leader, I understand Mansa is popular among multiplayers. Spiritual (no revolt time) and financial (especially along the coast) are very powerful traits. Not sure aggressive/expansive (Shaka's traits) will be that popular.

          .

I'd pick Hatshepsut over either of those men - war chariots rule!

Mansa Musa of course. He has the two strongest traits in the Vanilla game, and a solid UU. In Warlords, he will get one of the better UBs too!

Skaka will get what seems to be one of the strongest UBs. I don't think i'll be very impressed with the Impi.
Mansa Musa will be better, strong traits, although i like both of shaka's traits as well. But I think the strongest African leader will be Hannibal.

Well who is better depends a lot on what you want to do..................

But in the absence of a goal I'll say Mansa anyway.

Mansa is a really good leader with a solid (if unspectacular) UU, who is getting a solid (if unspectacular) UB. He's solid all-around.

Both Shaka and Hannibal look interesting, and Ramsses is getting IND/SPI, which is a combo I like, but this time with War Chariots.

: Lol, oh man i cant believe I missed Eygpt out! But that a side I would say that even though Mansa Musa has pretty strong traits, Shaka Zulu has made a name for himself: Existing since Civ 1 till now. While Mansa Musa is just a new comer, merely a baby in a "big boy" realm.

I'm not sure that's relevant to who is the better leader. Perhaps you should have posted a thread in the general forum saying "I <3 Shaka"

: Actually the "heritage" of a civilization in the "Civ ' Legacy" affects its reputation, and so players then know what to expect from the following seqeul.
                        :
                        :
:But since Civ4 warlords has made dramastic changes like shaka's (and for that case all civs) UB. It is hard to assuredly know what to expect from Civ4 warlords concering that of Shaka, and how he will play out his part in civ4.
                        :
                        :
:Furthermore, what is relevant and what is based on personal opinions are often not the same, hence my title: "Who is better..".

Egypt (During the days of the Pharohs) is considered to be Mediterranean not African. Even today Egypt would be considered Middle Eastern.
