  • Mysterious New Warlords Info On Wikipedia

There is some information on the Wikipedia entry for Warlords that has never been made commercially available. The most important entry is this which seems to confirm the University of Sankore as the third wonder and even gives it some interesting and highly plausible effects.

    * University of Sankore
o Provides research for every state religion building in the city
o Increases the chances of a Great Scientist being born

Also, they list Augustus as being Creative/Organized and Stalin as Industrious/Aggressive. The traits of these leaders have never been officially released.

Is this all the work of a wikipedia prankster? Or does this person know something that we don't?

Could be a NDA break of a beta tester. Such things happen, not only in Civ4.

Augustus could be my new favourite leader if this is accurate - creative/organised would be a very powerful combination in the early game. I hear he has a good special unit as well.

Would Cre/Org be well suited for expansion/warring on higher difficulty levels? You could expand cheaply and with minimal investment, occupying land easily and getting that defensive bonus.

And if you don't have to build culture and war civics are cheaper, then surely that enables you to conquer easily?

Not forgetting the Praets of course.

Augustus being a Roman leader, his unit would be the Praetorian.

I can neither confirm or deny this information.

Some of it seems plausible. But, if Stalin's traits are as listed, I have to imagine that they would change Napoleon's (although Napoleon could definately use either Charismatic or Imperialistic, or even both). If you are going to include this much info, why not mention that old leaders have their traits changed?

I think its either someone breaking a NDA or someone making stuff up out of thin air to get people excited over nothing.

I just said on another thread that Augustus would definatly get imperialistic. I don't think that Augustus should get creative. The major increase in roman culture didn't start tell Hadrian.

Their are many things that puzzle me. One, if this person knows so much why is their nothing on capulation. Two, why would a forum relace a courthouse. Forums were Roman markets. It is true that a building used for public functions including a law court, called a basilica was on one end of the forum. It seems like these are just gueses made with what info has been released.

Maybe someone confusing the function of a Roman forum with a Greek agora, which served as a forum for lawmakers?

Or maybe just that gameplay > realism, and courthouses are one of the buildings made more cheaply by Romans, thus playing into their Organized trait even more strongly?

How does the game make it more likely that a great scientist will come up, doesn't it matter on what the player does?

Eigherway, I've seen plenty of stuff I know is wrong on Wikipedia, it's not too hard to make up a bunch of stuff but sound like you know what you are talking about.
