Well, yeah; especally in WWII era tanks, the tank driver often would stick his head up out of the tank in order to get a better look around. So, sure, a really, really lucky archer could kill a tank driver.

Well, yes. But my premise was a little more complex.

      a) The tank unit would have to be damaged, for an archer to defeat it. It would also have to be isolated from friendly support (or those friendly units would be the ones attacking/defending).

      b) One of the major limitations that tracked units have is that the tracks break/wear out/fall off.

      c) Tank crews need to resupply at some point (food, ammunition, water, fuel).

So add a+b+c and you have a bunch of immobile metal boxes with occupants that can be starved out

Sure, sounds improbable. But so is a C4 Archer beating a C4 Tank.

        Guess what?

This is a fun, action packed game, filled to the brim with choices.
        Why is it like this?

        BECAUSE IT'S NOT REALISTIC.

Whoever heard of the Americans building the Pyramids? Who ever heard of the Incas and the Russians going to war? Who ever heard of the English living in tropical paradises filled with Ivory?

It's fun, because YOU are in control of history.

If you honest-to-god can't live without a tank being invincible, do something about it, change the XML, SOMETHING.

It almost NEVER happens that an Archer beats a tank anyhow, so stop complaining about it in a complaint thread about the Manhattan Project.

And all this time, I thought the game designers were responsible.

Yeah, back on topic.. having the MP as a war-relevant wonder could be interesting. Perhabs you should only get the atomic bomber when you`re in a serious war at the time of finishing the wonder.

You really should think before knocking down someone's idea.
The Manhattan Project in the game obviously is not the same as the one in history.

It refers to an effort to demostrate the concept of atomic bombs.

We're playing a game where archers have a chance to beat tanks.

Nothing that we can dream up is really out of the question.
What are you talking about? You are absolutely not making any sense whatsoever.

                      ..yes, by building atomic bombs.

The Manhattan Project in the game clearly isn't the basic nuclear technology, as that's covered by technonolgy. It is clearly the actual process of figuring out the technical details of how to build an atomic bomb, and the only way to know you've succeeded in doing that is to build and test an atomic bomb.

BTW, it would also be cool if there was a nuclear explosion near the city building the MP when it`s finished, to represent the nuclear test.

The Manhatten Project was the resreach of nuclear technology and the building of the three bombs.

I think that in the game MP should be a tean project and should grant the builder a nuke (or bomb). Also, you should be aluod to buy or steel nuclear technology instead of building MP. You shuold also be aloud to build satlites that will aleart you when someone is building MP so you can sabatoge it

Well, I guess there`s a price to pay for entering the atomic age!
