There was once a key city I wanted right by my border. It was well fortified and both my ally and I were attacking it for several turns. Since it was his unit that eventually got it and since it was so far away from his territory, he decided to raze it. I would have been nice if we could have agreed somehow beforehand that I'll get this city if/when it get captured (and in return I'll give him something). It was so annoying.
