I still enjoy SP... but am trying to play more MP. While I'm not a big fan of simultaneous combat, simultaneous moves does speed the game up over past Civ games.
    Keep on Civin'

I'm still predominantly SP. I think Civ4 is a good enough MP game, so I do play a game online once in a while, but I play SP far more.

I find that I don't like playing vs. random people online too much. Games with people I know are better, for many reasons. One of them is skill. I am no great Civ4 player, but once in MP, I stumbled upon a game with 3 other people who all seemed pretty new, so I was in front by a lot, and that didn't feel good to me. Or, likewise, I might stumble into a cton-veteran game and get my ass kicked so much it isn't fun, though admittedly, kickass veterans usually mark their games in the lobby appropriately, while new players not always so.

Simultaneous combat is the other turn-off for me. Simultaneous turns is a very good thing for as long as you're in the peace stages, as it speeds the game up a lot, but war does gain that clickfest element which I really dislike.

I only play SP at the moment.

Don't think a dial up connection would be very good for MP.

I would play PBEM, if I knew that I would not hold everyone else up, don't really get too much time for CIV at the moment.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

I would also play PBEM, alas, my computer is slow, I have difficultly with large maps, gave up with huge maps, and even standard maps sometimes get annoying, so, maybe one day I'll get a group together...

I have been having a great time playing a group of RL friends and plowing them every time since I have been playing since release and they just started a couple months ago. However, they won for the first time against me last weekend on a cheezy chariot rush. Now I wil have to redouble my efforts to pummel them into a fine paste!

I do still play random net games from time to time. They can be fun, but the churn of people quitting, crashing, and behaving like 14 year olds can get get old fast.

I play some single player to test out theories, UU's, or leaders, but I rarely finish these games once I have learned what I am seeking to learn to hone my mp game.

                Where's the banana option!

Also, what about people who don't play because they're modding..... like me?

I play a lot of SP and I play MP (diplomacy games) in the weekends.
I never play lobby games, I always know whom I'm playing with in advance. That's a must for civ-games imho.

Currently I play both SP and MP games... probably a little more MP.

I play both. I enjoy the MP games but I much prefer to know those i'm playing with. There are a lot of strange people out there.

I play SP only. I don't think it would be fair to force my abhorent skills on anyone at this juncture. I suck badly enough as it is, to suck AND be humiliated would only make me cry... and I don't cry.

I'm a single player because at heart I'm a builder. I will only attack if I feel I can't win a game otherwise - which is usually if I get stuck with an aggressive civ.

Multiplayer sounds nice in theory, but I've heard stories about swordsman rushes and all that, which absolutely is not my idea of fun.
