Nothing funnier that someone trying to convey music through text. It's like trying to explain a color to a person who's been blind since birth.

(I have no idea what music you are refering to)

I would guess the song from the opening battle scene

As for the Star Wars one, I would say probably the Imperial March

Will it really play a track if you just put it (in MP3 format) in it's corresponding soundtrack folder? No modifications to the XML files?

I just changed the link in the options to my "My Music" folder, and it plays all my mp3's.
              Hehe....burr.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic but I love these bands! All of them (and many more like them) are on my hard drive. Asia and Journey in particular. And Kansas, Scorpions, the Cars, Loverboy....

hmm, I'd love for it to play all my mp3's. Although some are better than others. for some reason I have some old 50's pop tunes on there. occasionally it's kind of corny and funny to listen to them. But probably not appropiate for civ4.

As for Asia and Journey. they are pretty cool. Journey especially. And Scorpions is mega cool. Crossfire is a good civ type tune. Cars and loverboy were decent as well.

But I'm a metalhead, and would love to hear my metal. I'd like it so it could only play my metal mp3's and leave my pop music alone. Or I'll just manually copy them, but my music probably takes of many gigs of space.

what options? where are they found? I guess I'll look for them. I love the soundtrack, but I'm curious how different my Civ4 experience would be with Rammstein playing.

okay I found the options easy enough. Although for some reason it stopped playing after a couple hours of play. I couldn't get it to start back up.

and there's something weird about taking over the Romans with Weird Al Yankovic playing on the sountrack. . Like I said, I wish I could select the genres of music it plays.

So instead I turned on itunes player in the background. Although it's pretty much impossible to adjust the volume on that, and it playes over wonder movies, combat, and tech advances. Oh well.

ugh "Scorpions" *shudder* cant believe they made one of the most horrible songs ever the wanna-be hymn of german re-unification ("wind of change") - even the imperial march would have been better there for all i care... ;-) Personally i cant stand that song... it´s enough for me to never listen to anything else they made...

                          I'll just pretend I didn't hear that.

I went through my R's and S's tonight. Started off with Rammstein. Which is perfect since I was playing the germans as I usually do. And yes I did get into the Scorpions, I love their older stuff (from about 1976 up to the mid 80's). Wind of Change is alright, but overrated.

I finished my game, but itunes is still going playing Slayer.

Though I did end up listening to the simpsons. I heard Homer's beer song. Doesn't really fit in with conquering the world.

I may mess around with it some more, but I'll probably just end up going back to the regular soundtrack. Or alternate.
