It's probably not very helpful without a saved game to post but here's my situation
Emp/Cont/Stand/Ceasar
I'm doing well but Ghandi across the ocean has the Tech/Econ lead and while I'm not sure how best to defeat him, at 1550 AD I should be planning it.
My continent is the larger and I have the most land.
Fred, Toku, and Khan share it with me while Sal and Pete are with Ghandi. I'm digesting the nice bite I took out of Fred and watching as Toku starts to do the same. Kahn is at the far end.
Long term Ghandi is the greatest threat in terms of victory. On my continent Toku is fairly powerful but not a real threat because of my Tech lead and greater size.
I'm thinking that my best plan would be to pile on Fred, take his core cites before Toku does and then turn on the Japanese after I get Cannons and Grenadiers.
I think I can do this and not stunt my eco growth. After the dust settles I'll have to decide whether to go for a Dom win or a late game push for the space ship.
As for Ghandi, I'll keep trading with him but buttering up Peter so that when he gets Cossacks I might get him to go to war on Ghandi.
