Do I want an XPack? Yes? I prefer to have it all installed than to have to search the web to find the best mods, then to notice that they don't work together

The XP should have more leaders for existing civs (making every civ have two leaders, where possible), and add some more traits... or maybe do it like other games have done (like RoN)
This space is empty... or is it?

Of course there must be an xpac.
The best thing in life is looking forward to something!
And since it's too early to look forward to ciV I wanna look forward to the cIV XP

And I barely care about new civs / units / techs.
What I wanna see is new concepts or expanded concepts.

Like civ2:ToT came with layered worlds.
      Like civ3:PtW came with multiplayer.
civ4 could bring more dept to religion, culture, diplomacy. Or perhaps totally new things. Build a little civ on AC, to name something weard.

That may end all those silly "We wanna SMAC2" chants.

I want an expansion pack and smac2.

a lot can be modded in, but professionally? We of course need new units. Especially for scenarios. And I would like more scenarios. I'd like to see an expansion like conquests, but with more gameplay content added as well.

And Fix helicopters I'm serious. I know it's tough in a game like civ4 that handles things on a grand scale. But helicopters role in the battlefield (and especially on sea with the U.S. Navy- they are anti sub units) cannot be disregarded so easily. Yeah you can argue that there is an invisble unit acting with the destroyer. But there is no distinction between modern destroyers and ww2 destroyers. And where are the cruisers and privateers? We need these units. I don't see what was so wrong with the civ2 model of naval ships and helicopters. Speaking of, why not have a AEGIS cruiser as well? Cruiser should come with combustion or industrialization, and AEGIS comes with computers. Simple.

Sounds like someone couldn't get their head around a game with Unit Workshops and a dynamic climate system

I am not sure about new units and techs. By about mid-game they start to whiz by in a blur, so I have already switched to Epic. Maybe even to Marathon later - when I played on Warlord level I got techs so fast I dropped my research to 50% to slow things down. It's now a bit slower on the higher levels, though packing in more techs will bring this back, and some units will become obsolete before you can build them.

Now since you refreshed my memory I don't think we need an Xpac.

Ah, the good old fashioned "You're against it because you can't do it" argument! Clever

In fact we don't need cIV either. It's just a game, I'll still breath without it. And if I'll ever stop breathing (small change) then cIV won't help me.

Neither do we need ciV. What is it good for?
I don't need it but I still want it.

And I'd certainly like to see more civs in the game, it's getting a bit predictable seeing Montezuma in game after game. A few more traits and leaders would be nice as well. Plus Civ 3 had alot of terrain improvements that would be nice to have in this version like Outposts, Radar Towers and Airfields.

There's still lots of opportunites to add new elements to this game. Even though it might feel complete at the moment, after an XP or two you'll be wondering how you could have been satisfied just playing the original version. Sure the community can do alot, but can they do it well? Quite often when I try some fan created addition to a game, it doesn't come across as polished or balanced. I'd prefer to play with something that was done professionally with a careful eye as to how it fits in with the rest of the game.
Well, a religious victory would be nice. Jihad on the infidels! and all that... And what I´d really like to see is a shorter game (not faster game speed but ending before the industrial era. The industrial/modern age bore me...)

                          Do we NEED an x-pack?

No, the game is really good without it.

                          Would I like one?

                          Yes! So I voted yes.

I don't particularly want or understand the religious victory but I assume you could turn it off so if people wanted that, fine.
