This is probably not the weirdest thing ever seen in this game, but I thought it funny enough to share.
I'm in the middle of a war and one of my cavalry units has earned a promotion the previous turn. It's not badly damaged (13.x), but the graphics has only two riders. During this turn (1865), I move the unit on a hill and promote it which brings it up to 14.x. As I go on to attend to my other units, I suddenly hear horses! Sure enough, there's a third rider appearing on the left side of the screen, riding slowly towards his colleagues, even crossing a pond before he reaches them and assumes his position.
I have a feeling that this might have something to do with a glitch of the combat graphics where, during combat, the camera zooms away from the combat to some other part of the map and returns only after the combat is finished. It doesn't happen in each combat or even in each game, but the cavalry unit was affected in the previous turn. I remember someone else reporting that problem after the release of the last patch, but there was little discussion. The zoom-away-glitch (while not a serious issue) can be quite annoying, but at least it gave me a nice screenshot.
