Wow, that was a close call!
I’ve kinda searched for your posts recently, and figured you were going down Workaholic Road like the most of us. Or maybe playing and writing a long and thorough DAR for us to read (twice). This is different. This is real life.

I am very glad to read the procedure went well. (My father is getting the same catheratization this weekend, so reading this story made my gut turn a bit. He has had three heart attacks, so I know this is serious.)

The important thing is to get better, not for us here at Apo, but for your family. Let the other professors at Apolyton teach us newbies for a while. Post back from time to time if you feel up for it, but take those stairs slowly. We're looking forward to your next lines.

BTW, the part about you wanting to repeat the walk and paying attention to what was hurting and how, that sounded like Vel allright…

      Vel, I had no idea.

You have my sincerest best wishes for a speedy and complete return to health. Take it easy and don't push yourself.

        Wow, get well soon.

Hopefully this image will cheer you up. It's not the best, but the idea was so good in my head that I rushed it.

          Vel,

We'll miss you while you're resting up, but we'd rather miss you for a little while now and still have you around later. Take it easy and give yourself plenty of rest.

This might be a good excuse to get a laptop with wifi so you don't have to climb those stairs.

            Vel,

Terribly sorry to hear about what happened. It sounds (and looks) like the doctors have you on the mend. Take their advice, rest up and don't overexert, and we'll hope to see you back here and active again in the next couple of months.

I think that I speak for everyone when I say that we will hate to see you away, but we all look forward to your return when you are sufficiently able.

OOh crap Vel!! You've got to stop making threads - or should I call them threats - like this.
              Stop worrying me like that!!

Good to hear you're feeling better.

Jesus, Vel. That was a serious blockage. Thank goodness you're all right.

Hello and good morning everyone! First, thank you very much for all the words of well-wishing....they mean a lot to me, and have helped to lift my spirits which, frankly, could use a boost just now, so you guys ROCK! Gave me just the thing I needed to keep me slogging through another morning!

There are some particular comments I'd like to key in on so far:

Dejon - Btw, next time (for anyone) - no pics please! Some of us play TBS partially because we'd rather not see the graphic stuff in other genres.
Had to at that one! Good stuffs!

Verrucosus - (When I saw that your main strategy thread had dropped to page 2, I had a moment of sympathy as I imagined you covered in paperwork because of a passing comment you had made about a busy time at work. Little did I know that the reason was so serious.)

Know exactly what you mean, and that's pretty much how it unfolded, too. Work keeping me slammed, less-and-less energy each day, a decision to get out and do some exercising to try and get a boost, then WHAM! Just like that, hospitalized, and on Friday the 13th, too! (AND a full moon! Yikes!)

Arrian - Wow. Try not to die on us, ok? That would suck.[/understatement] You appear difficult to kill, thankfully.

Difficult to kill so far, yep, but....I wonder sometimes. This makes the third dance with the big guy with the scythe in six years. (plus a couple of car accidents and other assorted misadventures that could have been more life-threatening than they were). Feels like the pace at which I'm burning thru my nine lives is accelerating. A little unsettling, but in looking back on life, I don't think I'd change much. Wouldn't have climbed that particular mountain I guess, but....*shrug*

Solo - No kidding! You've obviously rubbed off on Mrs. Vel. She told that story nearly as well as you did the scorpion venom story.

She can spin out a good story AND illustrate it! The lady got skillz....

Oh, and (adopting my best Gandalf voice), "If you are referring to the incident on Devil's Mountain, I can assure you that I was barely involved!"

Caligula - BTW, the part about you wanting to repeat the walk and paying attention to what was hurting and how, that sounded like Vel allright…

When Christina read this one, she asked...so does this guy know you for real?

EternalSpark - AWESOME! I'm now using that as my wallpaper! Thanks for the much-needed chuckle!

Brother Kinjy! Where you been hiding, man? I am not sure why no has told you this before, but a fiction writer is supposed to IMAGINE the things he writes about, not LIVE them!

Hehe...of course, the flip side to that is "write what you know"....given that statement, plus my misadventures lately, PLUS the subject matter of the two books already published....hold on, I'm scaring MYSELF!

                          Vel,

Thanks for sharing the news. I'm really glad the operation went well and that to hear you're on the path to recovery.

I wish you all the best.

Hey red! And thank ya! Doing some better today. Back to about 40%, I think, and gaining steam every day!

It is always sad to see someone suffer. It is all the more painful when you know that person to be a good soul.

We were so glad when you recovered the last and time and was very please to see you back at the forum. It would be a huge loss to all of us to not have you around Poly.

Hoping all goes extremely well for you and I am very grateful to see you doing better.

We want to see you be the one to pick the next Vel city for GS down the road.
