Jesus himself has most probably been born around 4-7 BC, so it's not as if our timeline itself is very accurate as well

                Could be a nice feature.
Everybody start in 0 AG (After Genesis), then as religions are founded and leaders convert they may chose to count in AB, AC, AM (After Buddha, Christ, Mahomet,...) or to stay in AG.
The replay at the end would then replay with BB and AB dates.
Finishing the game in 5984 AG

Would be hard to get to work in no time limit games, no?

                            Why not BcIV and AcIV?
In the end that's the generally accepted most important point in history to the civ communicty anyway.

Perhaps it should be BCiv and ACiv though. (no, it won't be BSMAC and ASMAC )

But Genesis is a Judaism/Christianity thing as well.

Around 400BC I was informed that Christianity had been founded in a distant land. Nothing wrong with that, since Civ4 is not supposed to be historically accurate. But I don't understand how the year can still be xxBC when Christ was born some time prior to the founding date of his religion.

However, the game cannot state a year relative to the birth of Christ until after his birth. So I believe there should be no year (or an ascending calendar, specific to your chosen civ - not the BC system which descends to zero) until the time when Christ is born in the game. I'm pretty sure the year 400BC was not known as 400BC at the time.

                                Just trying to be difficult.
It is just a game. I don't think that christianity was founded in the very second Jesus child was born. People didn't just say: oh.. look at that boy! That means only one thing... christianity is here!

Founding christianity doesn't mean that Christ is born... in the game. Developers just named these game consepts with corresponding names from real world. It could as well be some rastafari-religion or something...
