I finally scraped together enough money to get my copy of Civ 4 today. I haven't gone very far into it yet, I'm just playing on Settler and have only played up until the Classic era, but I'm liking what I see so far.
I'm playing a huge map with graphic detail set to low with low resolution textures and a 16 bit display resolution. I'm noticing some lag when I turn on/off the tile grid and going into the Military Advisor but other than that the game is running fine.
One thing I'm noticing though is that there's definitely room for improvement as far as in-game info is concerned. For example, if I roll over a terrain tile and see that I can build a Pasture, I'd like to be able to click somewhere to bring up an entry for that improvement. Instead I have to call up the Civilopedia, then hunt around through various icons to find what I want.
So being new to the game, I'd appreciate any tips anyone has to offer. I can see I have a bit of a learning curve ahead of me.
