  • Potential Problem?

Not sure if this will at some stage cause a problem, but here it is anyway. This is from the CIV4GameTextInfos_Cities.xml file. I changed the angle brakets to rounded ones since I read somewhere the angles don't display properly in the forum.

    (Tag)TXT_KEY_CITY_NAME_LOS_ANGELES(/Tag)
    ...
    ...
    (Spanish)
    (Text)Los Ángeles(/Text)
    (Gender)Female(/Gender)
    (Plural)0(/Plural)
    (/Spanish)
The Á bit just doesn't seem right to me...

Also can anyone tell me why cities have a gender tag? Just curious.

Edit: Ahh just looked at the preview and it's all sorted out. The bit I was interested in was where the A in Angeles should have been was ampersand hash 193 semicolon, which as I now see translates to the A with the crick above it. Still interested to know about the gender for cities if anyone in the know knows?

For the Spanish version (and French, and some other languages), they probably gave a gender tag to every noun. That way they can change articles and adjectives as needed. (For example: "You cannot establish a city within two spaces of this city" would change based on the gender of "city"). All cities should be feminine though, so there might've been a more efficient way of doing it.
