If you want to fix graphics glitches with nvidia cards roll back to version 78.01 here . I have a 6800GT and this fixed all graphics problems for me.

I don't see anything in the patch message about fixing the multiplayer lobby crash bug or improving on the peer connection problems under LameSpy. Hopefully they address on or the other problems soon, things like that can kill the size of a multiplayer community, and people will not be patient with so many other good online gaming options.

I get the garbled world view too at times with my Geforce 6800. Restarting the game clears it up (for a while).

But without knowing the concept of animal husbandry, people would hardly consider horses as a potentially useful animal for war. Potential dinner, yes, but military applications? Hardly. So it's not about that horses weren't "seen", but more like thier usefulness wasn't.
Yes, that's reasonable. But then the same thing would have to apply to ALL "pasture" animals, b/c they too wouldn't mean anything w/o Animal Husbandry.

Seems like a gamey thing, but not a gamebreaker.

no kidding... i enjoy the pillaging sound. hopefully it's just going to be some option, like adjusting the sound effects volume

The pillaging sound is cool, except when you are hip deep in a major war and the AI pillages 6 improvements in one turn and you have to sit through 6 scream sessions...all delayed and occurring while you are making moves.

I think that is what they are addressing.

Horses aren't a food resource, if memory serves. Other animal resources (besides elephants and furs) are food resources. Hence you can still see and hunt those other animals for food. Since horses are in the game primarily as a unit resource they work a bit differently.

Though there isn't anything that would stop primitive peoples from eating horse, but the game ignores that (which is reasonable enough).

Is there any estimated release date for this patch?

Nice to see the patch has gone of for testing, maybe if the GAME had gone off for testing we wouldn't need a patch this early...

Hear Hear! I gave up on this game after a few days when it started CTD'ing on me every two or three turns. Yet to finish one friggin' game in CIV.

                        Something about horses:
Anybody noticed that in current ruleset you can recruit chariots, while not having animal husbandry.

                        What's that?
                        Wild horse charioting?

This and a series of other multiplayer issues.

Player 1 cannot trade, so the current workaround is that the "real" player 1 starts with two civs, and retires civ1, playing civ2.

Connection dropped happens in direct IP and gamespy -- several people report not being able to join *any* game in the gamespy lobby.

Can't load a MP game by double clicking the attachment in email. This automatically makes you "player 1" whether you are not.

Most importantly, you cannot mail the PBEM saves directly from the game unless you have one of those rare SMTP gateways that uses port 25 and does not require credentials. Most people do not have this situation - so this feature doesn't work for a vast majority of PBEMers.

Do I need to say anything about Pitboss not being included in the original product release???? I'm anxious to see how that performs.
                            Haven't been here for ages....

Well, it's Friday. I'm hoping this thing comes out today in time for some weekend gaming. Any guesses?

I'm still playing my first game so I haven't noticed all the things mentioned in this thread. I hope the intro and Wow sound skips are addressed. Same for the black tiles and cheshire cat bug.
