  • You know... I think the AI also just gets units for free too:

I can't prove this (yet) but it seems like the AI just randomly gets units added to its cities every few turns at even the Noble level.

It would be nice if Firaxis just came clean with what is hard coded to this effect.

I also get units added in my cities every few turns. All it takes is to complete the build.

      Sir Ralph cheating.

      Cunning tactic though.

Meh I haven't noticed this. I have seen large armies of AI troops, but nothing that seems impossible for the AI. If you want to test it, make a noble game, give yourself like 10k gold and put spies on the AI cities and watch them for like 50-100 turns.

Errr, don't say something if you can't prove it. You aren't going to get Firaxis to reveal details about the AI, because then it'd be easier to counter the AI.

Oh for Dog's sake, its a damn machine. You've got several billion years of development compared to it and you're whining?

Obviously everything Firaxis does is a personal slight against you. Just go play multi already.

Edit: On second thoughts, scratch that. The last thing I want to see on a Sunday morning is a topic entitled "OMG HAX"

I've noticed that it cranks out units too - but when I've seen it too it its using slave driving to build defensive unit after defensive unit.

I invaded Spain in one game and each turn the beseiged city would crank out unit after unit while sacrificing population.

Again, people seem to be missing the point, like in dearmad's other thread on Noble difficulty. Noble has been touted as a level playing field, when it does not seem to be one. I think Firaxis played their cards well with the wording in the manual, but altogether it does seem to be the case that the human and AI being on even grounds in Noble is a popular myth. Dearmad is NOT complaining about the general *fact* that the AI is getting these advantages, he is trying to debunk the myth about Noble.

Then perhaps he should debunk it when he actually has hard facts, and is not just spreading apocalyptic rumors based on wild guesses? I also posted a thread about the AI cheating (well, to be more precise, knowing all the map like in Civ3), but other than the original poster I had a savegame backing the claim.

I thought they were going to release the whole AI code with the SDK so people can change/mod it. I'd rather be able to know the various advantages it gets so I pick which ones the ai has rather than using a single level scale anyway (which means fiddling the resources files if I'm not satisfied with any default level).

                    Proof:

First turn after settling a city- I drop in a spy on Tenochtital. With 1 prod per turn he already has his unit about done. The odd date is because I modded the game's date data. The cost of the unit is modded as well- so it appears the AI gets a 50% bonus on its first unit- or something like that.

I dropped a spy in EVERY civs city- this was true for all.

Sir Ralph: Take your sarcasm elsewhere- I'm trying to figure out how the AI plays. It's called understanding the opponent so I can adjust the diff. level to do what I *expect* it to do.

I'm so sick of all the ****ers on this board who blindy defend how the game operates. Just shut up- I'm one of those who wants to understand how a game works so I can mess with the SDK and XML's and python scripts to get it to play better. Take your Civ IV toy and go play in the corner mumbling how nothing is true unless proven it's all good and the AI is smarter than your momma. LOL.

Then simply try to understand the game as you wish to do without bothering the rest of us with your suspicions, true or not.

yes the intent behind the asterisks IS as you think it would be- go hide you head in the sand and let the rest of us communicate, idiot. "True suspicions..." LOL- uh... FACTS!? LOL!

Hm... a forum with imposed silence not to upset the precarious sensibilities of the sissy-players who interpret information and requests for such as whining. Mm... nah... not gonna turn Apolyton into that. I'll keep posting. BOO!

Yay for you Geomodder- take the flames.

Keep on being bothered by others' "true suspicions," and demanding in your ranting way that they stop posting them.

                              It's quite amusing.
