  • clarification of libraries/markets/treasury

Okay so apparantly I had a misconception of how things worked. I thought that all gold produced by city tiles went to science/treasury after being modified by libraries, and then all income from trade, specialists, and shrines went directly to the treasury after being modified by markets. Now I'm told that all gold from all sources goes to the treasury/science, and that those amounts are then modified by markets/libraries. For example:

A city makes 100 gold. 25 from tiles, 25 from specialists, 25 from shrine, and 25 from trade. There is a market and a library. So, from what I understand, if the science slider is set to 90%, then 90 gold + 25% from library will go to science, and 10 gold + 25% from market goes to the treasury?

Or is it this: 90% science * 25 gold from city tiles + 25% from library goes to science, while 75 gold from other sources + 10% of 25 gold from city tiles, all that plus 25% from market, goes to treasury?

I thought the city makes gold (through all sources you mentioned) and also makes "beakers" through scientist specialists, etc. If the city makes 100 gold, then the market adds 25 gold. If the city makes 100 beakers, then the library adds 25 beakers. All of the gold and all of the beakers for all cities in the empire are added up, then the tech slider is applied to the gold (let's say 90% tech), so that's 90% * total_gold more beakers. Each tech takes some number of beakers to research. 10% * total_gold is used to pay for maintenance costs (affected by civics and number of cities, maybe population?). Left over goes into the treasury.

Hey disregard my previous post. I have no idea what I'm talking about. Apparently there is "gold" and there is "comerce", and the tech slider sets the percent of "comerce" that goes to "science" vs. "gold". I just went into the game, looked at some city screens, rolled-over the stuff in the top left corner... I have no idea how it calculates anything.
